Veterans’ groups, St. Lucie County and city officials and other hopefuls for a VA nursing facility gathered to welcome a delegation from the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs who paid a visit to the proposed site in St. Lucie West on June 11. “This is your new home,” proclaimed St. Lucie County Commissioners’ chair Frannie Hutchinson to the visiting site selection committee and an estimated 100 members of veterans groups and other advocates.
