Jobs, jobs and more jobs — that was the sole mission Aug. 6 for state movers and shakers at the Military, Defense and Veterans’ Opportunities Summit held at the Hyatt Regency International Airport Hotel’s grand ballroom.
Top executives of Florida’s biggest businesses and veterans’ organizations, along with elected officials, gathered to share some very good news regarding job prospects for veterans and how they’re working to improve them even more.
Hosted by the Florida Chamber of Commerce, its president and CEO, Mark Wilson, gave the opening address.
“Our mantra is ‘securing Florida’s future,’” he said. “We meet here today at the intersection of free enterprise and freedom itself.”
Praising the men and women of the armed forces, he said, “Let’s take the solutions we share today and take them outside these four walls.”
