Cemeteries are holy ground and should be consecrated accordingly. Don Murphy, director of the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, is looking for area clergy to bless the new cemetery before interments start.
“That’s currently my top priority,” Murphy said.
Murphy said the sanctifications should reflect the great religious and spiritual diversity within the military and among area veterans. The ceremony will be sometime between Christmas and New Year. Murphy urged members of the clergy who’d like to participate to quickly contact the cemetery office at (321) 383-2638.
