ST. LUCIE COUNTY — There will be a community-wide special remembrance of an event that changed the way America understands how people of faith work together. That event will be held at Port Saint Lucie’s own Veteran’s Memorial Park on Sunday, Feb. 7 at 1 p.m. at the main pavilion.
It is being sponsored by the Port Saint Lucie Interfaith Clergy Association, the Jewish Federation of the Treasure Coast, Living Faith Church, Congregation Eitz Chayim (and others).
There will be a special commemoration and service for the four chaplains, all first lieutenants. They included a Methodist minister, Rev. George L. Fox; a Rabbi, Alexander D. Goode, of the Reform movement; a Roman Catholic priest, Rev. John P. Washington; and Reformed Church in America minister, Rev. Clark V. Poling.
