Port St. Lucie’s Knights of Columbus, St. Francis of Assisi Assembly, is taking ‘em out to the ballgame. On Friday, May 13, the West Palm Beach Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center will bus about a half dozen veterans at its community living center to see the Mets take on the Fort Myers Miracle.
“This is an annual thing,” Vincent Errico, co-chairman of the event, said. “I believe this is the eighth or ninth.”
The Knights purchased 3,000 tickets from the St. Lucie Mets, which it is in turn selling to other lodges. Last year, the organization raised about $2,000 that it presented to West Palm’s Recreational Therapy department.
