Florida Legislature aims to attract more veterans to Sunshine State

Sen. Thad Altman, chairman of the Military and Veterans Affairs Committee, held up a copy of the annual Florida Veterans Benefit Guide on the State Senate floor. “With the passage of this bill, it will get thicker and thicker and thicker,” he said. Florida has about 1.6 million veterans. The Florida Senate sent a message on Tuesday, March 11 — the state wants more.
